Our greatest battles are those with our own mind
It is beautifully mentioned in katha upanishad that,
” Mind is higher than the senses. But the intellect is higher than the mind. And higher than the intellect is our “Great Self ” .
Intellect is our faculty of reasoning and inbuilt power of discriminative judgement. The intellect basically upholds our knowledge, wisdom and values what we learn in our scriptures and place of worship, and is considered supreme.
The mind on the other hand practices this knowledge wisdom and the values in our day to day life. ( The problem solving ability of mind is intelligence.)
Simple words, intellect is the storage and mind is the processing unit
There are times in our life when the mind does not follow the inclinations of of the intellect and subsequently it gives rise to a tussle between the two.

In the war between our mind and our intellect , if the mind disagrees to the intellect then it brings dishonour to it. It leads an individual towards ego- satiation , arrogance greed, cravings desires and other demoniac attributes.
The individual then begins to enjoy his self -claimed kingdom of self -proclaimed prowess and pseudo magnanimity . The intellect becomes blind and gets eclipsed by the mind flowing uncontrollably into infinite dimensions.
Blind intellect with uncontrolled mental trends is the dominance of evil over good.
Absolute Power corrupts, ill-gotten money makes one mindless and self proclaimed fame destroys even the very own identity as a worldly being.
Consequently , an individual in his own forte of false belief gets tangled up and further gets enmeshed deeper , if not timely diverted to the right path .

It is then, when the individual need to ignite a spark of knowledge and control his mind. One needs to put endeavours towards acquiring divine qualities. Efforts needed to enhance the desire for knowledge, and grow his love for truth and nobility.
Always in the tussle between mind and intellect, the latter should win , and the individual becomes the master of his will, and possessor of virtuous attributes.
Try to accept your follies and embrace righteousness,. Always keep your intellect higher than mind and your mind higher than senses, because that is the way they were placed by the Almighty.
Always seeking your blessings and wishes.

Oh my, what a lovely post, Reena. You’ve described these truths excellently. The distinctions between mind, intellect, and self are exactly so. As our awareness increases through meditation and inquiry, these truths become more visceral. You are very wise, my dear friend. ❤️❤️
