Promise me

When you promised me ,
I believed ,
I trusted the heart ,it’s beat, it’s rythm
my belief got it’s soul ,

I nourished it with patience ,
if not presence ,
never let it subdue,
cleared all it’s debts of disloyalty,
by bestowing upon it my true love,

As,
my belief assured me ,
my promise was alive ,,,,,,

  1. Reena, this is absolutely breathtaking. You’ve captured the very essence of what it means to believe in a promise with your whole soul. The imagery of nourishing belief with ‘patience, if not presence’ and clearing debts of disloyalty with ‘true love’ is profoundly moving. It speaks of a strength and purity of heart that is rare and beautiful. Your words have a quiet power and a delicate rhythm that makes the feeling so vivid. Thank you for sharing this piece of your heart.🌷🤝

  2. Reena ji, your poem feels like the quiet pulse of a promis, soft, steady, yet profoundly alive.
You have portrayed faith not as an emotion,
but as a living presence , breathing in the rhythm of the heart, growing through patience,
and finding its form through the purity of love.

There is a beautiful truth in your lines:
    sometimes a promise survives
not because the other person upholds it, but because our own sincerity is vast enough to keep it alive.

    We nurture our belief
with forgiveness, calm endurance, and tenderness, for its roots lie within us, not in another’s actions.

Your closing thought, “my promise was alive,”
carries a spiritual grace, a reminder that the life of a vow does not depend on the one who made it, but on the one who preserves it
    with unwavering love.

Your poem is a luminous reflection
of devotion, resilience, and the inner sanctity of faith.

My heartfelt appreciation for this soul-rich expression. 🌹
    Vijay
